H1 Hummer - 6.0 LS Swap
Only 11,818 H1s were built across the entire 1992 to 2006 run, and the four-door Open Top is the body style people picture when they picture a Hummer: canvas over a bare aluminium tub, 16 inches of ground clearance, portal axles, and a footprint wide enough to need its own postal code. Civilian H1s in any configuration are getting difficult to find, and a properly executed custom example is a different conversation entirely. This is a two-owner truck, built as a show piece and still presenting like one. The airbrushed livery is the signature: gloss red peeling back to reveal cracked desert floor underneath. Inside it is finished in saffron leather with a billet dash and full custom gauge package. In August 2023 it went through a full LS conversion by a GM dealership head mechanic: the original diesel came out at 22,000 miles and a 6.0L L96 went in, making 380 hp and 400 lb-ft, with an LS3 direct port intake and injectors, upgraded timing set, upgraded stall converter, and a Holley Terminator Max controller running the engine and the electronically controlled transmission through a digital dash. The conversion has covered 7,200 miles since completion. Nothing about the build was done halfway: custom cooling system, custom exhaust with a wide-band sensor for on-the-go tuning, hydroboost brakes and a purpose-built power steering setup, high output charging system, custom electric fuel supply with modified tank, and a push-button ignition. It was serviced again on August 27, 2026 at LAD's Auto with front upper and lower ball joints, brake pads and rotors front and rear, two new batteries, an oil change, alignment and rotation, air filter, fuel gauge, and thermostat housing gasket. Tires were purchased new in April 2022 from Country Tire Automotive in Calgary. Offering: 6.0L L96 V8 conversion, 380 hp and 400 lb-ft, completed August 2023 by a GM dealership head mechanic LS3 direct port intake and injectors, upgraded timing set, upgraded stall converter for LS Holley Terminator Max controller with electronic transmission control and digital dash display Custom exhaust with wide-band oxygen sensor for live tuning Custom cooling system, high output charging system, hydroboost brakes, custom LS power steering setup Custom electric fuel supply with modified fuel tank, push-button ignition One-off airbrushed cracked-desert livery over gloss red Saffron leather interior, billet dash, custom gauges Full brush guard with LED light bars, roof snorkel, rear-mounted spare with dual jerry cans Removable soft top, four-door Open Top configuration Two owners Approximately 22,000 miles prior to the conversion, 7,200 miles on the replacement digital instrumentation since. True total mileage is not verifiable, as the original cluster was replaced during the build. The factory central tire inflation system was disabled and block-offs installed as part of the conversion. The H1 market has split into two camps: unmolested low-mileage originals, and properly executed custom builds. The trucks that fall between the two sit. This one is squarely in the second camp, and it drives like nothing else on the road while doing it. Trucks like this are not repeatable. Trade-ins accepted. Financing and leasing available OAC.
